I've never cooked with dried TVP. Do you know if it's basically the mother of what Morningstar "beef crumbles" are?

I don't know what that product is made of , but TVP can be used as a ground meat replacer.

You can usually find it in a bulk bin and it's often a lot cheaper than processed faux meats that come pre-seasoned.

microwave a potato to add and it's more like a stew. Also use hot sauce instead of BBQ sauce for more of a Texas chile taste.

I have started eating vegetarian and you must be careful because most soy is GMO and so people have allergic reactions. Plus Vegetable protein is often extracted using HEXANE which is a neurotoxin. You have to make sure its organic soy to make sure. Look into it! Its a big dirty secret of the veg industry I think, theyre like oh you think youre gonna be healthier by replacing meat...hows this dangerous neuro-toxin! :(

Thank you so much for another great recipe! We went camping this weekend, and this was the perfect dinner. It was easier, and even more flavorful, than the chili I've been making at home.

Looks tasty and I have a potluck coming up so I am going to try it with some great cornbread I learned to make recently.
